Fees & Subscriptions

How can I cancel my subscription?

Updated Sep 15, 20262 min read

Quick answer

To cancel your subscription, submit a support ticket. We will send you the specific steps to close out your plan properly, either by rollover or distribution. Once your plan has been closed or moved to another provider, we will cancel your billing subscription.

What to include in your ticket

A few details up front help us give you the right steps the first time.

First, tell us what your plan currently holds. Let us know whether it holds only cash or also holds assets such as real estate, private funds, or notes.

Second, tell us how you want to exit the plan:

  • Roll over your assets in-kind to another self-directed provider
  • Liquidate your assets and roll over the cash
  • Take a distribution of your plan assets in-kind
  • Liquidate your assets and take a distribution of the cash

Are there fees to close your plan?

We charge no fee to terminate our services. Third-party fees may apply depending on how you exit, such as state filing fees to dissolve an LLC or fees to retitle assets. If you have an IRA LLC or IRA Trust, IRA Resources also charges its own account termination fee, which is listed with its other custodial fees.

If you take an in-kind distribution of your LLC or Trust, its Operating Agreement or Trust Agreement will need to be amended to reflect the new ownership. We can prepare that amendment as a separate service, or you can have your own attorney prepare it.
