IRA Resources charges an annual recordkeeping fee to maintain your IRA account. This is a fixed annual fee, billed as part of your monthly subscription. It covers the ongoing administration of your IRA at the custodial layer, including annual IRS reporting on your behalf.
This fee is not based on your account value and does not increase as your investments grow.
Access to support services
Your subscription also includes access to the Self-Directed Plans support team and knowledge base. This covers questions about plan operations, IRA layer transactions, compliance with IRS rules, and general guidance on how your plan works.
What the subscription does not cover
The IRA monthly subscription does not cover IRA layer transaction fees charged by IRA Resources. These are fees for specific custodial events that go beyond routine account maintenance, and they are assessed separately as they occur.
Transaction fees apply to events such as:
- Transferring new funds into your IRA from another retirement account in the future
- Taking a distribution from your IRA
- Completing a Roth conversion
These fees are set by IRA Resources and are separate from the Self-Directed Plans subscription. Refer to the IRA Resources Fee Schedule for a complete list of transaction fees and current amounts.
Note that IRA Resources does not charge transaction fees for investments made inside your plan-owned LLC or trust. Transactions at the plan entity level do not flow through the IRA custodian.
